Uses

A machine that runs long jobs

A render, a build, a big download, a backup. Start it, walk away, and check on it from your phone without the machine falling asleep halfway.

How it goes

  1. Set the jiggler’s window to cover the job. Tiny nudges on a timer or a daily window, on the box’s own clock, so it carries on after a restart.
  2. Check the screen from your phone. At home over your WiFi, or anywhere over Tailscale, with the same page.
  3. Fix things without getting up. Type a quick answer to a prompt, or paste a command, straight onto the machine.
  4. Let it let go when you are done. Turn on auto-disconnect and, after 15 minutes without you, it unplugs its own keyboard and mouse.

A daily window for the jiggler, and fifteen minutes before it lets go. The window is an example. The hours are yours to set.

What matters here

Good to know

The jiggler keeps the computer from going idle with small mouse nudges. It does not change the computer’s own power settings.

If the computer locks anyway, screen unlock can get you back in once you have set it up.

For a computer you own, or one you are authorised to manage.

Not sure your computer has the right ports? The compatibility check answers in three questions. Ready for one? Reserve yours.
